I was born in Galle, a coastal city in Sri Lanka. I’m a physics PhD student at University of California Irvine.I’m currently studying cosmology. I always had passion for astrophysics and traveling in secluded areas (I have my own requirements). On top of that I have one wish which is only a dream. To become an alpinist but it’s not feasible. Anyway challenges for my travels are
- Being a grad student(Means I’m poor and I cannot have long vacations)
- Having a passport from one of the worst 10 passports to travel (Sri Lanka)
- Being an introvert and don’t drink alcohol or go to parties( hitchhiking and making friends along travel is harder )
- Being picky (my requirements)
My requirements are
- Less touristy
- Either green lush area/ alpine area/blue ocean
- Cheap enough . Don’t seek for luxurious accommodation
Moved to California few years ago and started backpacking and since then I have managed to see many wanders of nature. I’m not in a competition for collecting stamps on my passport or the number of countries I visit. Most of the times I didn’t like posting photos on public. But I always felt my travels are too selfish which benefits only me. So there you go I’m a selfish backpacker
Many friends of mine have asked me to plan their trips so I thought writing a blog about how I traveled might help at least some one especially in my conditions. Because although there are millions of blogs ,most of them are by travelers from developed countries so they don’t face some difficulties as me.
