I always wanted to spend time in forests from my childhood. When I came to US it became more expensive and I wanted to do a proper hike(in my standards) at least once in 3 months otherwise I couldn’t work. But “Irvine”where I have been living for the past 3 years , doesn’t have much to offer for me. I need a bit of adrenaline pumped treks/activities . So I started backpacking to other countries which makes me that I cannot afford a car.
Even my group mates question my expenditure on travels.
“Why are you spending over $1000 for a flight ticket ??” Me: I want to get away from this society and get in touch with nature
Them: That’s why You need to get in to drinking or get high rather spending that much money
(Then I planned a 4 day trip with them and then they said while laying on a beautiful valley “Now I can understand why you don’t need to get high” )
Lately I have been feeling the way of my traveling is too selfish. Spending most of my stipend for backpacking and hiking and enjoying everything for my self. Sharing a couple of photos on social media once in a while and that was it. Many friends were asking me to start a travel blog or you tube channel(I still believe I don’t have that much travel experience to start those) . I wanted to do volunteering work but I’m a grad student (another way of saying I’m poor and not supposed to have long vacations ). So after seeing recent incidents in Kashmir and talking to some friends from India , I thought there are somethings I could share that people normally don’t pay attention to.
So Here I am starting a blog. My intention is to talk bout a bit about my kind of travels, make people aware of certain issues related to places I travel(more interested in issues related to climate change) . Also it makes me feel better about my selfish traveling . may be it’s just an illusion but who cares 😀
Wow !!! It sounds like you have amazing stories to tell 🤩🤩!!
